The group landed in Japan around 2:00 PM. Immigration and customs had a serious line, but the forms were already filled out and only the QR code was needed. Easy, just slow.
Zach and Caitlin found Sarah first after her New York flight, then picked a restaurant with ordering on an iPad while waiting for Ashley's San Francisco flight. The table ordered a premium beer and a mystery appetizer situation, then added udon when it was unclear whether food was actually coming. Eventually the tray arrived with edamame, dumplings, and one mystery item. The udon was excellent too, and the whole thing was about $20 total.
Ashley landed and tried to find the group. Zach and Caitlin kept giving landmarks and she kept saying she was there, but nobody could see her. Eventually everyone realized she was in a different terminal. The full group met at Terminal 1 by the train station and headed into Tokyo.
After checking in, the group found a tempura place where ordering happened at a kiosk outside. The workers laughed a little as the ordering process unfolded, then helped everyone through it. The food was great.
The night ended with a 7-Eleven dessert run and sleep.
